Be careful when chosing an Internet domain name...

Clearly, some people don't always think particularly hard
when registering Internet domains for their websites.

The following are real (and safe to open at work)
    1. 'Who Represents?' A company database for agents of the rich and famous.

    2. Experts Exchange. A knowledge base where programmers can exchange
    technical advice and opinions.

    3. Looking for a biro ? Look no further than Pen Island...

    4. Need a therapist? Try here.

    5. Mole Station Native Nursery, based in New South Wales.

    6. Powergen in Italy...

I think we've had the Italian Powergen one before, but there's some good 'uns in that list ;)

awesome, love the experts exchange one. a true sign of people being very knowledgable about a subject yet having absolutely zero common sense.

These sites are actually quite clever. It's a viral marketing technique where they've deliberately chosen ambiguous, rude web addresses so that they get linked to from all over the web. This increases their ranking on Google, so when someone wants to buy, say, a pen a put in "pen store" in a search engine, up pops Pen Island because there are so many links to it.

The Experts Exchange one is just a bunch of affiliated links to on-line stores/sites for various products.

Nice idea. Money for nothing in some cases (wish I'd thought of it)
