Wansbeck Contest, Newbiggin

    Weekend of the 26th/27th April will see the annual northumberland BBA/Wansbeck music festival brass weekend. various classes with the highlight The James Shepherd performance prize. Ten bands will also compete own choice tests on the sunday all under the adjudication of Brian Buckley.
    Whos going and whats being played I wonder

    I know GT Group Peterlee Band are going- obviously I'm not going to say what they're playing on a public forum though......;-)

    Unless it has changed, it is open adjudication anyway.

    10 Bands. Who are they? What secton are they in?

    Well we will be there in the 4th section, plus we have lots of entries in the solos on Saturday too.

    Ashington are going in the first section

    Just to clarify . We stated in the rules that adjudication will be closed. Also bands can borrow players from bands not members of the Assocition.

    It sounds like a really well attended contest again - well done Tony and co. Hope it all goes well.

    Just to add a bit of info, the contest is in open format and is pre-drawn (we know our draw but obviously can't publish it). I think it is down to 9 bands now too.

    Felling won, Ashington best 1st, Ferryhill best 2nd, Dunston best 3rd, Backworth best 4th.

    What about the GTGroup, Wheren't we there ?

    Just to clarify: Felling won (93 points), and GT peterlee were 2nd (89 points), and ashington were highest 1st section band not placed overall (88 points).
