The West Pelton & District Community Brass Band have reached the semi-finals of the National Lottery Awards in the Education section. The voting commences from 16 June after 9.00am and ends on the 4 July at noon. The West Pelton & District Community Brass Band was created by the locals of West Pelton to continue the tradition of brass band music. Although only established in July 2007, the project has already formed relationships with four primary schools, providing music tuition to cover 100 children. Funding from The National Lottery was spent on purchasing the brass instruments needed for the band, and on percussion instruments to help widen the children`s musical talents. The funding has also enabled the group to develop plans on a further project called `Broncial Boogie` - aimed at helping young people with asthma. The band has meant that the schools and children involved now have a hobby alongside the musical learning whilst having a positive impact on the community as well. Please VOTE FOR US as our project can win £2000 to help to maintain the band for the future. Vote on line at: www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards Or call : 08453866091. Please remeber vote starts on 16 June after 9.00am and ends 4 July noon.
