I've just received the following email regarding a national survey for Arts - anyone else got it?

    Dear contact
We have just received the attached flyer on behalf of the Department of Culture, Media and Sport inviting amateur arts groups to participate in a national survey. We have been asked to use the information on the Help Yourself database to contact as many groups in Sheffield as possible to enable them to take part in the survey and make their voice heard. If you would like to take part you need to go online at www.artsurvey.org.uk where you willl find a brief explanation of the project and a questionnaire to complete.
The deadline for completion is 29th February 2008. Ideally we would have contacted you much earlier, but in spite of our late involvement, we wanted to give as many people as possible the opportunity to respond.
    Yours sincerely

The online survey is here however it's needed by this Friday (nice to see they thought about us before it closed)

As usual, it looks like another survey that will be worth very little due to lack of adequate advance publicity!

and no specific option for type of organisation - Brass Band - had choice of classical music or other music group - Sheffied only has 4 orchestras and a hell of a lot more brass bands in this area but they get a group all to themselves and we are just "other".

To answer the survey you'll need information about the band accounts as well as numbers, ages, sex, employment information etc.

There are also three £150 draw prizes for some lucky contributors.

It will allow a submission without the accounts details, so don't let that put you off!
