Got the Eb Horn+Piano version the other day and I love this piece! :)

Pretty sure that theres a band set (which can't be far off if it's by the same guy!) but can't find it anywhere. Anyone know if this isn't a figment of my imagination and who publishes it so I can get a copy  !

We have it ...will check it out next time at band.
Must admit it is one of my favourites as well.
I must also say I prefer Sandy playing this one.......have listened and like his sound and style on it.

    Re: Variations

Will check it out......have a recording of Sandy Smith playing this really fine solo.
It's on recording by Faireys called Double Champions.

Any luck Moy finding if the band set has been published or whether it was a hand-written jobby?

Heh yea, assuming Sandy arranged it that's why I'd need to ask him! :)

Problem is he doesnt seem to have any professional cards listed anywhere. Doesnt he teach at RNCM? Any tmp-ers study there who knows how to get an email to him? :)

You should contact R Smith & Co (see my previous post). They had the band version when I worked for them in the 70's.

It's not Sandy's arrangement but Peter Kneale's own original version. They will be able to sell you a copy, even if it is still only in manuscript 8)

Ah that would be even better cos then the soloist part would be the same in theory!

i'll try R Smith (which sounds much more copyright friendly!) for a copy first..thanks guys!

Is this the same piece on Steve Sykes' CD Sykology?
