    Just a quick question:

Would you say that Flugel valve felts are small or medium?

Just i'm ordering some and want to check they're the right size lol
    I'm reckoning small

It probably depends on the make of flugel.

Not to mention the question of whether you have aligned valves or not (depends how well built it has been).

It might be worth taking it to a top class repairman and getting the felts that fit your instrument more accurately.

In my humble opinion a proper valve alignment may be in order. I've had all my horns aligned by Bob Reeves in California and the results were astonishing. The most dramatic was my Bach Strad Bb trumpet. It took what I thought was a mediocre Bach and transformed it into a more open and easier playing instrument. A above the staff is now solid and in tune and high C slots in much easier. I highly recommend it.
I'm sure you have the same service available in the UK.

    Just my opinion.

The valves are fine! I'm taking the flugel in for some custom stuff in a couple of weeks but the felts were just a bit grubby and i fancied some new ones!
