Is it normal for piston valves to drag a bit coming up if they've been pressed off center? I notice, particularly with my first valve, that if I get sloppy and allow my finger lay across the edge of the finger button on the hand side, the valve is likely to come up slowly. It doesn't happen if I'm careful to keep good finger position over the valves. What do you think?

Thanks guys! I started out as a French Horn player, and transitioned to a European style Alto (Tenor) Horn. So I was a rotary valve guy practically my whole playing career. I just started playing a piston valve instrument a while back. So it's nice to get the benefit of your knowledge and experience.
