It wasn't that long ago that anything sub 10 seconds was considered to be either remarkable or drug induced. In this race the first 5 guys over the line were all under 10 seconds - amazing.

And he reckons he can run it in 9.4 ..............

It was great watching him quieten his doubters. Tyson Gay's post race reaction spoke volumes as he clocked 9.71 seconds. Mr Bolt made it look easy with all the media pressure that could have affected him.

did he have a cup of tea halfway down as well, like he could have done in the 200m when he eased up last time?

No but he did glance across to Gay's lane with about 15 metres to go, and then was clock watching as he went over the line.

Moot point, but it was the 100m in the Olympics where he showboated. In the 200 he ran to the line and dipped. Without the dip Michael Johnson would still be the WR holder.

Looking forward to the 200M final on Thursday. If he can run 9.58 100's he should be able to go to about 19.10 for the 200. He was timed in a 150m race @ 8.7 for a flying 100.

The womens 100m is also shaping up to be a blinder as well. Carmelita Jeter (USA) just ran a PB in the Semi's @ 10.84, with Kerron Stewart (Jam) running 10.80. Only another .31 seconds, about 6 metres, to break the alleged WR of Flo-Jo.
