NABBC (Scotland) Repertoire Session with Composite Band
Sunday 1st October 2006, 2.00pm - 5.00pm, Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama, Glasgow

Players are required to help form a 'composite' band for the afternoon of Sunday 1st October, from 2pm.

The session will be used to look at, rehearse, and run through (previously un-used) works by Scottish and European composers.

Our intention for this event is to gather together players from various bands to form one composite band, to try out, rehearse, and play through a number of works for brass band that may not have had too much of an airing in the past. We may also have some brand new works available to us from Scottish and Continental composers, giving everyone (players and conductors alike) the opportunity to get to know the music of some of our up-and-coming composers. This also gives players the chance to meet, play together and discuss the merits and de-merits of the music 'on show', and hopefully enjoy the fun of being together.
Personalities from the Scottish banding scene who will be on hand to conduct include Nigel Boddice, Allan Ramsay, Tony Swainson, Raymond Tennant & others.
If you are interested in taking part
please contact Raymond Tennant as soon as possible on:-

    - this is a chance for a completely random adventure of music making for band players! Creating order out of chaos in one afternoon ... wish I could make it! :)

Did any Scottish tMPers play at this event? There were quite a few interesting new works played at the Academy that afternoon. One piece listed was Earthrise by Eddie McGuire. What was it like?
