For those of you whose interests go beyond brass bands, a couple of new CDs have appeared on the market without much announcement recently. The Kew Wind Orchestra have released a CD of music by Peter Meechan called Apophenia, which includes the wind band versions of Macbeth, Epitaph for Hillsborough (which got a great reception at the last RNCM festival) and a cracking performance of Fields of Destruction featuring David Thornton, as well as the title track featuring Rex Richardson on trumpet. And Onyx Brass, a really classy quintet in the tradition of the PJBE, have just released their fourth CD, called Time to Time. Happy listening - for me, at least!

Apophenia's a great CD, I loved working on it....Epitaph is a phenomenally moving piece....
