    Twenty three new members for The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain

    When The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain assembles at Taunton School for its 2006 Easter Course there will be 23 new members. They are as follows:-

    • Heather Fury Cornet Shropshire
    • Owen Garbutt Eb Bass Lancashire
    • Philip Greenhalgh Bb Bass Lancashire
    • Julia Grinniff Percussion Lancashire
    • Zoe Hancock Flugel Horn Cornwall
    • Sam Kinrade Cornet Isle of Man
    • Sarah Lenton Baritone Cambridge
    • Jessica Martin Tenor Horn West Yorkshire
    • Sam McDougall Bb Bass Cheshire
    • Lloyd McWalters Bb Bass Lancashire
    • Simon Minshall Bass Trombone Lancashire
    • Ryan Moorhouse Eb Bass Stoke-on-Trent
    • Fraser Precious Cornet Suffolk
    • Neil Raisbeck Tenor Horn Cheshire
    • Gregory Roscow Tenor Horn Lancashire

    oooh yayness, 4 people from cheshire!! woopwoop!! Know 3 of the 4, so an extra big congrats to you guys :D :clap: :D but huge well done to everyone its gonna be soooo much fun!!! oooooh i cant wait!! see you all in less than 3weeks!!! x x x

    Also complete lack from Hampshire, which has always had a thriving county youth band....

    Wonder why? Where were the auditions held?

    Truro College - Sunday 9th October
    Leicester Arts Centre - 6th November
    University of Salford - Saturday 12th November

    University of Sunderland - Saturday 19th November

    Must have been others as HBB has already said he went to London for his.

    well done jess im very proud!!! your the only one from yorkshire in there and i no you are going to do us proud!!!! i think there is a couple of other people that are all ready there from yorkshire! do us proud which i no you will!

    Indeed. Not what they once were by all accounts. Shame though. I'm not surprised by the lack of members from London. Perhaps this is mirroring the areas that actually concentrate on youth in Banding? Hence the Cornish contingent!
    These issues have been raised elsewhere in the forums, so I won't elaborate further here!!

    Glad you said that... don't think I'd have been brave enough given the reception praise for the banding in Cornwall got previously! Still, bravo to Kayleigh and Zoe! (Nothing will compare to the catering at Cornwall Youth though, right??! Er...!)

    Also well done to Zoe Alexander...I noticed that Soundhouse had a good rep player when I was listening at the areas, and obviously, I was right!! :D

    becks164, there is another one from Yorkshire and that is a Andrew Enzol, listed North Yorkshire { the best part of the county}.
