We've had an inquiry through our band website about someone who's found an "obviously vintage" cornet. The brand name is

I've never heard of this brand, and we're trying to find out about it. Unfortunately, we don't have any more information, or a photo, and the actual cornet is on the West Coast (of the US) and we're on the East Coast.

So . . . anyone out there ever heard of a Vark?

Not a 'Lark' by any chance ??

In which case avoid it like the plague !!

Got a Lark on your hands have you? Not good. My advice would be to melt it down and start your own spoon company.

If it IS a Lark, that would be bad. I'd hate to tell this person that it's not "vintage", but more like "sewage".

As I don't actually have the cornet, or a photo of it, I can't tell. I'm hoping that the throbbing brain  that is the tMP membership might know if Vark was ever a real manufacturer.
