    Hi everybody,

I have a large bore Bflat and f trombone which is about to die:( .

Whats wrong is the inner slides are pitted and worn, I Have played it until recently but it became near impossible to play. Can anybody help? Or does anybody know of anybody who can help. I understand that the crome cannot be stripped because in places the brass underneath is exposed, but maybe one of you very clever people would know a way of getting this trombone back to playing condition. At present I am playing :( on a medium bore King 606 which not as bad as some of you may think, well the slide works and thats got to be a plus. i like the large bore because (sort of) allows me to play Bass trom as a dep if needed.

If anyone can help please reply.

    many thanks

    Hi Kenbo,
I'd take it to Rath Trombones in Huddersfield if I were you. There's a wealth of trombone-building and -fixing skill there.

It is possible for most reputable instrument repairers that have a trombone specialist, to replace the inner slides.
