Camborne Band announces a trio of new signings.

Joanna Scott is appointed Principal horn, former solo horn with the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, Mount Charles and St Austell bands.

Camborne MD Kevin Mackenzie said: “I am delighted to be able to team up with Jo again, she is a very fine horn player, and her signing for the Band is a real coup.

Jo added: “I am relishing the opportunity of performing with Camborne; with so many talented players the future looks very exciting”.

Adam Scott joins on Solo Cornet from St Austell, he is currently Principal Cornet with the Cornwall Youth Brass Band; Adam brings a wealth of experience to an already strong cornet line.

“We have been following Adam’s progress for a while and we are delighted he has accepted an invitation to join the band”.

Adam added: “When I knew the position was available I jumped at the chance to take a seat with a great band. I am now looking forward to a long and successful career with them."

Finally joining on percussion from Helston Town Band is rising star Justin Strike. Currently a member of Cornwall Youth Brass Band and Helston School Jazz Orchestra, Justin is a welcome addition to our already talented percussion section.

“Justin is another player we have been monitoring his progress and time seemed right to extend him an invitation to join Camborne”.

Chairman Nick Sanders said: "I can't sum up in words how pleased I am to welcome the new players to the band. I am thrilled that our band is in this great position of attracting players of this calibre." We now have 30 players around the stand at every rehearsal meaning we can move forward towards our goals and objectives for the coming contesting year.
