Sadly, Trevor Sutherland passed away suddenly a few days ago. He was a huge force in North Wales banding, and was responsible for training hundreds of children to play through the various bands he has been involved in over the years. He had conducted Llay Welfare Band for nearly 30 years. He leaves a huge legacy, but also a huge hole to fill. I certainly wouldn't have my lifelong passion for brass bands without his influence over the last 35 years that I've been friends with him, and he's going to be enormously missed by everybody who knew and loved him. His funeral will be on Wednesday 19th September 2018 at 2:30pm, at Wrexham crematorium.
