Are there any members who would be willing/able to make a translation into Dutch for me please?

In a few weeks time, Vic will be going to Holland on a school musical trip and we would like her to have a laminated card with her nut allergy details on.

If anyone can help, I will PM with the details.

    Have you PM'd jan_h?

Grandad Badger might be able to help, but I don't guarantee how fast he'd be...

Hmm, yes, I did wonder if Jan may be able to help. I have him on my MSN. I'll try and catch him next time he's about.

Do you have Dutch or Flemish blood in your family?

Why don't you follow this link and do it in Babelfish

There is a English Dutch option about 5 down on the drop down menu where it says select from and to languages. Although it will only allow 150 words, if you require more then you can add the rest later.

For instance "I have a nut allergy" translates as "Ik heb een nootallergie"

Thanks. I now have a wonderful translation, courtesy of Jan.

The trouble i find with Babelfish, and other computerised translators, is they are ok to a certain extent, but tend to leave words in a slightly jumbled order which wouldn't read fluently in the opposite language.

the two phrases you really need to know are:

"please be aware that i have a nut allergy."

"can you tell me the way to the nearest internet cafe so I can get my tMP fix please?"

No, but Grandad Badger speaks fairly fluent Dutch. He's been over there preaching a couple of times and they have lots of Dutch friends.

Opgelet, ik ben allergisch voor noten.
Kan U mij de weg wijzen naar het dichtstbijzijnde internet cafe, zodat ik mijn dosis tMP kan krijgen, alstublieft?
