The world famous Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band will appear in concert at Halifax Parish Church on Saturday 23rd May at 7.30pm, to raise money towards Elland Silver Band’s new headquarters appeal. This will be Brighouse and Rastricks first appearance at Halifax Parish Church where they will be led by their newly appointed Professional Musical Director, Professor David King. Elland Silver Band and Elland Silver Youth Band will also perform some items in the concert. “We were delighted when Brighouse and Rastrick said they would like to help the band raise funds towards our new building appeal. This will be a very special concert for us. We are expecting a full house”, Mrs Kathleen Harrison, Band Secretary. Elland Silver Band currently owns a prefabricated building in Elland, which has been the bands home for many years. Sadly, the condition of the building has deteriorated over time and the band is now looking to build a new bandroom on the existing site. Funds raised from this concert will help the band to get one step closer to its ambition. Tickets are on sale at £10.00 and £8.00 for children under 16 and can be purchased in advance from Kathleen Harrison, telephone 01484 717126 or from the Halifax Parish Church office.
