Poor IckleSop! Toothache is one of the worst pains.
If its an abscess than gargle with hot salty water, as hot as you can bear.
    Oil of cloves.

Unfortunately though Becki - it is the strongest pain killers you can find, coupled with gargling with salty water until you can get to a dentist.

Had this similar problem a few months ago! Why is it you only get toothache at weekends, when dentists are shut?

I phoned up the local dentist emergency line- and was advised to take paracetamol AND ibruprofen, alternately, every two hours.

If its something like a filling come out, etc, you can buy a small tube of gel from any chemist/supermarket to anaesthetise it til you can get to a dentist.

I used my sons calgel or for when it got too painful to bear I got some anbesol from our local 24hr asda, only available over the counter. Best idea is to go to the dentist though, I eventually did and am now in the middle of root canal treatment.

I find oil of cloves does help, but also hold a warm handkerchief to your cheek,,,,,

mum's remedy was always the best,

wishing you a speedy recovery Rebecca !
