Tongwynlais Launch CD

    The Tongwynlais Temperance Silver Band will be holding a concert this

    weekend to launch their much anticipated CD "Castell Coch".

    The Concert on the Saturday 22nd October will be held at Radyr High School

    Sports Hall, and will commence at 7.30pm.

    Tickets are £5 an £4 for Concessions.

    Under the baton of Gareth Pritchard, the band will play a selection of

    pieces from their new CD and will feature a number of their solo artists,

    and band favourites.

    Featured soloists will include Martyn Patterson, twice successive winner of

    the Euphonium British Open Soloist prize, and Duncan Broadley, the bands

    principal cornet who will demonstate his wonderful sounds that has captured

    many a soloist prize over recent years.

    The new CD will be available at a specially discounted launch price on the

    evening of the concert.

    The CD which was recorded over the past year under the baton of both Gareth

    Pritchard and Bryn James includes classics such as Caravan,Softly

    Softly,Russlan & Ludmilla Overture, the test piece Dances & Arias, and

    featured items such as Hungarian Dance (Duncan Broadley),Endearing Young

    Charms (Martyn Patterson),Cute (Jason Bevan),Irish Blessing and Soave Sia il


    The evening will provide plenty of entertainment for both the brass band

    enthusiasts and music lovers, to anyone who likes a good tune.

    Congrats to the band for the new CD...I don't doubt that that IS Castel Coch on the cover.

    Do you know if World of Brass or 4barsrest will be stocking the CD? (I might be able to save some shipping dollars if somebody has it at a trade stand for the U.S. Open next month)
