Batworth Cottage is situated on the edge of the historic Wolds village of Hunmanby, near Filey, North Yorkshire.

The cottage dates back to 1694, is built from chalk and features many exposed beams. It has been tastefully furnished and decorated to provide comfortable holiday accommodation sleeping two people for short breaks or full weeks. Close by are shops, pubs, restaurants, a nine hole pay and play golf course (£11 per round) and a gym.

Batworth Cottage is just 2 miles from Yorkshire's Heritage Coast and only 30 minutes away from the North Yorkshire Moors. These beautiful attractions can be easily accessed by car or public transport.

The cottage can be booked by the week or for short breaks of 3 or 4 days.

How does that work then? Assuming you can add a couple of extra nights to a 4-night stay, staying for 6 nights already costs less than a week on every tariff!

Even if you can't add two extra nights, two consecutive 3 night bookings (i.e. 6 nights) costs the same as a week in June or September and £10 less in July or August. I'd rather have 3 nights + 3 nights for £410 than 6 nights for the price of a week at £420 - but would much prefer to have 4 nights + 1 night + 1 night for £385...

The 1st night of any short break includes an additional cleaning cost of £25. Additional days are at the base rate.

Therefore using your example of a 6 day booking with peak season prices, the cost would be:- Day 1 £85 + 5 Days (@ £60) £300, Total £385

If it was booked as a 3 day break, plus 3 additional days, the cost would be:- 3 Day Break £205 + 3 Days (@ £60) £180, Total £385

If it was booked as a 4 day break, plus 2 additional days, the cost would be:- 4 Day Break £265 + 2 Days (@ £60) £120, Total £385

The offer we are making to bandsmen is to stay for a week, but with the 7th day free of charge.
I.e. Weekly cost (£420) minus the free day (£60), Total £360

    Hope this clarifies.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks. Couldn't make it add up earlier.
