    Hi guys,

MRSH and I are planning a social in London on either Saturday 28th May or Saturday 4th June. If anybody is interested please give a shout below, and say which date is best for you, and we will see what we can sort out.

p.s. can a mod make this a sticky please? Thanks.

    Edit: 'stickied' (dyl)

Oops!!!!! Steve seemed to have posted this twice - can a mod please delete the duplicate. Thanks.

    Edit: Sorted! (dyl)

What me and Steve have tentatively chatted about is maybe going to some pubs around the Euston/Tottenham Court Road area. They are in abundance around here. It's also very easy to get to train and tube wise.

Also, after investigating, there are quite a few Holiday Inn/Holiday Inn Express/Premier Travel Inn places around there if any one wants to stay over. And they are reasonably priced too.

So, come on all you Southerners, let us know if you're up for this.

Isn't the 28th May the day before the Masters and the last day of the Cambridge Beer Festival?

Not sure as yet as have a bit of a busy month! Will put it in the diary though and if the work isn't going terribly then I may indeed come along for a tiny, tiny, little small drink :)

It seems there might be a slight problem here then. We could move it to later in the year, but if anyone else would be interested in "surveying the area and checking out the pubs for future reference", im always up for that!

Baritone Elvis's Home pub "The King and Queen" I think it is called, is a friendly place and is rather centrally located by Oxford Circus.

Should we make the First Southern Social for th 28th in Cambridge, with a later one at the King & Queen?

    Top idea Steve!

I would certainly be up for it, but like others I can't make the weekend of the 28th as I'm on tour in Germany depping with Brackley Band.

Sounds like a good idea to me!! Added bonus is, next day is the masters, even if you don't pay to go in, they close the road off outside the Corn exchange because of the sheer amount of people spilling out of the pubs!! So....more drinking!! :guiness

Why not visit the King & Queen on the 4th as well, for anyone thats in town?....

Better check with Elvis that they welcome 'non-local people!' ;)
