Has anyone had much experience with Adams timpani?
I am looking to buy a new set but can't decide over Adams Professionals or Ludwig Grand Symphonics.
    Any reccomendations?

Haven't played either type but have played Adams Symphonics which are excellent. Similar design to Premier timps but much higher spec and are far more robust. They look similar to the Professionals but have the Premier type pedal rather than the Ludwig 'balanced action' one which I've never liked

I've also used Adams Universal timps a lot which are again really well designed and sound excellent.

I am assuming that the Adams Professional Gen2 model would sound the same as the Adams Symphonics, as the only difference seems to be the pedal mechanism and a fine tuning lever.

I'd take Adams over Ludwig anyday as I don't like Ludwig pedals but I'd also look at Majestic's range if I were you. Good quality but much better value than Adams.
