On Saturday 6th March, 2010 The Armstrong Hall Thornbury rung to the sound of brass band and choir as the Thornbury Castle Band and Dursley Male Voice Choir entertained the audience of Thornbury.

The band played a variety of music ranging from the traditional March of the Cobblers to an arrangement of Christine Aguilera’s Candyman. The choir also gave rousing performances ranging from The Rhythm Of Life to Hallelujah. There was a full and appreciative audience and special guests. At the start of the second half the Mayor presented awards to Peter Barnes - Youngest Player Award, John Whallett - Life Long Member Award and Alice Bodiley -award for all hard work in her 10 year as previous conductor.

After The Concert MD Geraint Barnes Said " Tonight Concert was a huge success and the band played to the biggest audience in the bands history and I am very proud of everyone from band members to our helpers behind the scenes and of course the audience whom with out them this concert wouldn’t have been a great hit"
This was Geraint’s first major concert with the band since taking over in October 2009. The band has been transformed during this period and have a filling diary of events in 2010. The band has a new MD, a new committee and lots of new and returning players and are looking forward to an exciting future.
