Due to an increase in work commitments of our current M.D., an exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of M.D. of the Thirsk Royal British Legion Brass Band.

This non-contesting band enjoys a varied schedule of engagements from theatre appearances to summer fetes. As a RBL band we are exceptionally proud to represent the Legion at high-profile events such as the Remembrance Day Parade. We have just returned from an extremely well-received summer tour of Austria. Please see our Facebook page for details.

The Main Band is complemented by a thriving Training Band under its own M.D. and work together to ensure transition between the two bands. The desire to support the work and ensure the continued success of our Training Band must be a priority for any applicant.

The band is a friendly, hard-working and committed group who aspire to a high standard of music-making whilst enjoying the process. Our rehearsals enjoy exceptional attendance. We are proud of our inclusive atmosphere and our commitment to developing all players.

The best way to understand us is to visit us. We look forward to welcoming you soon as we embark on the next chapter of our band’s story. Please contact (in confidence) the Band Secretary Andrew Thornton for more details at andrew.thornton@btinternet.com Band pic 2015 30th banner top.jpg
