Anyone got any good ideas for a themed concert?

Over the last few years we have done a few of the obvious ones... Movies, Musicals, Dance, Scotland, Britain, USA, The World...

What have other bands done which have gone down well with the audience?

I'm working on a Devil and the Deep Blue Sea themed concert for our Patrons night that will include out pre-area run out of Devil. . . I don't think every concert needs a theme but they can give the audience an idea of what they're coming to.

Been in groups that have done some of the same as you. I would add Space. Would be neat to do a WWII theme since we are in the midst of 70th anniversary of various events. I've also played around with the four elements Earth, Air, Fire & Water.

And of course this year, Jubilee? Royal?
  5. "The Planets" "Pictures of an Exhibition" "From Russia with Love" "Skandinavian Winter" "Story of Mountain Trolls and Summer Elfs" "A Night at the Opera" "Rock&Pop" are just a few we have done in the past few years.

    Three for us this year

April - Iconic Music from the 20th Century Part 1 1900-1950 theme
    July - Olympic theme
Oct - Iconic music from the 20th Century Part 2 1951-1999 theme

Come to the April concert and get 50% of the October concert

Buy all three and get one free

    Seems to work well

The year when your band was founded (planning this for our anniversary) so music popular, popular food and drink and entertainment, fancy dress competition...
    Or countries?

How about xxxxx band's world tour 2012 and play music from around the world. If you really want to get flashy you could chart your "progress around the world" on a big globe or world map set up behind the band (or better still projected from a laptop or whatever).

There's certainly enough high quality music and arrangements that could make for a very enjoyable gig for all concerned.
