"The Works" instruments - any good?

Last Saturday I was shopping in Sheffield, and popped into "The Works" discount bookshop. Behind the counter were a number of musical instruments, including a French Horn, Trumpet, Alto Trombone, Clarinet and possibly a couple of others. Playing trombone I've occasionally played Alto Tromb parts and generally survived playing on tenor tromb and suffering a few nose bleeds! But at £99.00 for an Alto Trombone I was almost tempted to buy it, under the theory that even if it is really poor, I'll probably only need to play it a few times and therefore can survive its inferior quality.

But before I part with my money, I wondered if anyone else on here has been tempted or even bought one and if so what are they like, are they not even as good as the price tag or are they surprisingly good value?
