Full credit to Ancic, however it seems year after year Henman seems to only produce when hes playing the bigger opponent, his match against Phillipousis was superb, but then give him an unseeded opponent and he blows it (almost blew it twice earlier in the competition). Hey ho same story different year!
What a surprise! Yet another English sporting competition that ends in anticlimax... Oh well lets see how crap we do in the olympics
Let's hope that brass banding never becomes a truly International 'sport'. We would lose that as well :!:
It practically is anyway. Think about it; we have a league table of who's best (a la golf, tennis); and our competitions are judged subjectively by a panel (like ice dancing, ice skating - they're judged on 'technical merit ' and 'artistic impression' - pretty much like brass bands, but for 'technical merit' read 'split count'....)
Henman losing in straight sets to an unseeded player is rather like England if they had been beaten 3-0 by Switzerland at Euro 2004 and were playing at home. At least England in the World Cup lost to the eventual winners (and generally considered to be the best side in the world anyway) and this time round, the hosts.
We won the rugby world cup...!! Ah well, I guess we won't be hearing, "C'mon Tim," for another year...!
After all that extra coaching as well :!: I heard he'd spent a day with Beckham discussing tips on how to avoid the net
Yeah but lets not hope that in 30 years time we are going "well we won the rugby world cup in 2003", as it was the last thing we won!
