For several weeks I have been hearing rumours about huge changes at one of the Top Yorkshire Bands. Conductors moving, Euphoniums Changing seats etc.

Does anyone know the 'ins and outs' or do we just allow the rumour mill to continue or am I ruffleing feathers???

i've been hearing rumours, presumably about the same thing for months, so safe to say its all just a load of b******s until proven otherwise.

I have just heard that Nick Childs has given up conducting and is now living in a commune in Arizona. Dyke will be holding open auditions for a conductor and Simon Cowell has bought the TV rights.

Brighouse have just appointed Betty Anderson as their new conductor.

    It's true, I tell you!!!!!

Almost correct. I heard from a very reliable source that it's Sue Perkins not Betty Anderson at B&R!

Aye? I heard that Sue Perkins is being pencilled in at the last moment to adjudicate at the Open, so that more media attention can be focused on banding!

Not only that ... at the break, there is going to be another competition. The UK Brass Band Tearoom Bake-Off Open contest. It's all in the mix! ;)
