This is the official tMP discussion thread for the Midlands Area of the forthcoming Regional Championships of Great Britain.

Feel free to discuss your thoughts and predictions for each section within the Area - but don't forget to enter the tMP Predictions Competition - for your chance to contribute to the overall tMP Predictions (plus a chance to win one of the first copies of 'The Mouthpiece' - the winning march composed by Darrol Barry). Please note, that any predictions posted within this thread do not contribute towards the competition. Details of the tMP Predictions Competition can be found here:

We also ask that when the results for the various sections are announced, they are posted in this thread, and not posted as brand new threads - it has the potential to become extremely messy should this be the case. We will be creating and maintaining a complete set of results for viewing on the tMP Portal as they happen.

I am NOT asking who has been drawn in which half but does anyone know if the pre-draw has been made for the 1st Section?

Our ever reliable (not) secretary says that she does'nt know so we still can't get the times for the bus, etc sorted.

If someone can at least tell me if there is a pre-draw and if it has been made I can pester her into some more details.

Having spoken to the band manager of another 1st section band, I can confirm the predraw has taken place. Best to give Brian Eggleshaw a call I imagine.

Looking back at last years results I've notice that Nottingham City Transport are missing this year - does anyone know why?

Yes, they have had some trouble getting players and were getting some help from Thorntons, who also arent going and then they were late getting the entry form in

I'd heard [again just a rumour nothing concrete] that Unity are going to the area now. So to be honest I'm not sure what is going on - they are and then they're not, then they are. Whatever if they are gong all of this uncertainty can't be good preparation for them - and after doing so well at last year's Area and Pontins contests. :-?

I should be there on the sunday watching. I'll have a to keep an eye out for Travelsphere now! Good luck Naomi! Wanted to go and see the 1st section on saturday as well, but I'm playing in a show, but good luck to Raunds. I have a sneaking suspicion they could do quite well...

Unfortunately, Unity aren't going to the Area this year. They do have a new MD though, which is good news.
