The Golden Lady

    The title may be The Garden Lady, but on Brassband Tube the BT Band play this at there farewell concert. Does anyone know Composer or publisher please.

    Nope, it's definitely Golden lady if you mean the piece I think you do. Named after a golden statue that was discovered somewhere after being walled up I believe. (someone will be along in a minute with the proper story I'm sure!!)

    It's by Goff Richards, and published by studio music. You can find it on their best sellers list here.

    I can't give the full story, but the statue in question is the Gëlle Fra in Luxembourg (lovely place).

    Goff Richards composed the piece for Cornwall Youth Brass Band's tour to Luxembourg in the early 90s.

    There's a very good recording of it by the Bodmin Town Band on their Light As Air Cd too.

    Played it with the cybb last yr... If im right in thinking this story is correct.. but his wife is from luxembourg and he wrote with her in mind as "the golden lady" aswell!
