*OUR 23.8.2010 ADVERTISEMENT HAS BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL.
WITH APPOINTMENT OF GRAEME TINDALL TO OUR
    TEACHING STAFF*
Graeme is highly respected as a band trainer, conductor and also a very fine cornet player. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience with both Lanchester and Felling Bands. His meteoric rise is well documented and has been unsurpassed in resent years, with musical pedigree and commitment second to none.

Since the formation in July 2007 of the Ouston,Pelton & District Community Brass Band we now have over 90 eager youngsters who regularly rehearse in seven schools during out of hours and on a Saturday morning in a community centre.
They use new brass and full set of percussion instruments, have uniforms, stands, a wide range of music, and a lot of support from parents, teachers and the local community in general.

Already these children have made a notable impact on the local banding scene and are thirsting with ambition.
Already 1st.2nd and 3rd prizes have been awarded in Solo, Duet, Quartet and other contests.
Several top flight musicicans from the brass band world have given a series of demonstration days, and the children have attended concerts by high profile brass players as part or our plan to feul thier growth even further.

The band concerts are well attended and it is rewarding to see their excitement and total commitment as they improve.
We are now desperately seeking MORE Experienced players, who have possibly now retired from banding, to sit in with these youngsters to encourage, give advice, demonstrate techniques and styles, and teach by example.

The North East has produced many soloists for our top bands over the years and our objective is ensure that this continues.
