2007 national finalists, The Egham Band are currently looking to recruit a Principal Eb or Bb bass, a Second Trombone and another percussionist to complete our contesting band. We are a friendly community brass band based in Egham, west Surrey, near London, with our own band hall with bar. We're located close to M25 junction 13, and 3 minutes' walk from Egham train station, on the London Waterloo to Reading line. 2007 has been a busy year for the band. We comfortably won the second section areas at Stevenage, qualifying to represent the area at Harrogate. In May, we put on a special concert of music by British classical composers originally written for brass band, including Pageantry by Howells, and Severn Suite by Elgar. Yet to come, we have a trip to Leamington Spa contest, followed by a busy selection of community events in the run-up to Christmas. 2008 will see us return to the first section, including a visit to Butlins for the Mineworkers contest in January, and playing James Cook Circumnavigator at the areas in March. Many thanks.
