    Going slightly OT, we've been fortunate enough here on Arran to be given a recital by the trombonist John Kenny, who not only demonstrated his amazing trombone skills (on alto, tenor and bass), but also gave vent to a wide variety of weird and wonderful instruments, like the carnyx, conch, didgeridoo.

    Samantha and myself put him up for the night on Saturday and we discovered we share the same birthday (though he's a bit older.... ;))
