    The Cobham Band

    A vacancy has arisen for a Euphonium player as after some 19 years with the Band one of our Euphonium players is moving to Eastbourne and setting up a family run business.

    The Band rehearses once a week on a Monday at St John's Ambulance Hall, Portsmouth Road, Cobham, Surrey from 8.00p.m. to 10.15p.m.

    The Band is currently preparing for Challenging Brass Entertainment Contest in September, Folkestone Contest in October and will also be returning to the Menuhin Hall in November following last year's successful concert.

    The Cobham Band's Euphonium player has his last engagement with the Band this coming Sunday, the position is available immediately thereafter.

    Southern Counties Amateur Bands Association, Spring Contest, Third Section Winners 2009

    Have vacancies for: Tenor Horn (Second) and Tuned Percussion

    The Cobham Band carries with it an enviable reputation for excellence and professionalism.

    This year (2009) the Band has been invited to perform at the prestigious venues:


    • The College Gardens of Westminster Abbey, London;
    • Greenwich Bandstand, Greenwich Royal Park, London;
    And

    • The Menuhin Hall, featuring Cornet Virtuoso Ian Porthouse and his IP Brass.

    The Band rehearses on Monday evenings at St. Andrew’s Church, Cobham, Surrey.

    • The Menuhin Hall, featuring Cornet Virtuoso Ian Porthouse’s IP Brass.

    • Solo Cornet
    • Tenor Horn
    • Tuned Percussion
    Last year the Band performed at the prestigious venues: Westminster Abbey Gardens, London; Greenwich Park, London and at The Yehudi Menuhin School, Cobham; and performed alongside top brass banding names such as Ian Porthouse’s IP Brass and Stephen Sykes (Radio 2 Young Brass Soloist 2009).

    Required:

    Front Row Cornet; Euphonium; Tenor Horn; & Timpanist to complete the bands line up ahead of L&SC Area Contest in March. 2010 will see the band also performing in Westminster Abbey Gardens and at The Yehudi Menuhin School.
