Re-released on the Resonance label (from an ASV Records original) is an early 1980s recording of the London Gabrieli Brass Ensemble, Britain's longest established professional brass group (I believe) in a collection of works from Tielman Susato, Giovanni Gabrieli, Samuel Scheidt, Johann Pezel, J.S. Bach, M.A. Charpentier, Anon., Jeremiah Clarke, Anthony Holborne, John Stanley, Matthew Locke and Henry Purcell. It's standard 'baroque brass' fare but all played exceedingly well. One of the very few brass recordings ever to get a Penguin Guide 'rosette', well worth the £7. If baroque on modern brass instruments appeals, (as it does to me!) then IMHO, I think it's a winner.
