I was having a browse on the Kirklees website and saw Jonathan Bates has brought out a collection of pieces called the Tenor Horn Album Volume 1. Has anyone got this and can tell me what pieces are in it and what standard of player is it for?

Also, has anyone had any experience or opinions of Mark Allen's Baroque Concerto?

I have the Jonathan Bates Tenor Horn Album and it's very good - you do need quite a good range to play it some pieces have top C's but there is a good mix of slow and faster pieces, they are Ave Maria, Schubert - Finale form Violin Concerto, Vivaldi - Reverie, Debussy - Nocturne, Chopin - Girl with the Flaxen Hair, Debussy and Finale form Violin Concerto, Tchaikovsky. For me personally I felt it was very good value for money and the range wasn't a problem.

As for Mark Allen's Baroque Concerto, if it's the one Paul Bennett plays with Faireys, it sounds quite tricky, there's a sound cloud recording of it.

    Hope that helps.
