Just 7 months after it's formation the Telford Youth Brass Band has been invited to perform at the National Festival for Music For Youth at the Symphony Hall Birmingham on the 10th July.

Under the joint direction of Wayne Ruston and David Maplestone the band has grown in strength and now has over 30 regular players, although new faces are always welcome.

Many thanks must also go to County Music Supplies Ltd in Shrewsbury and Telford and Wrekin Music who have provided valuable financial support, transport and equipment.

Congratulations Wayne and the members of the Telford Youth Brass Band from the Forest of Dean Area Youth Brass Band - see you there!

What did you play at the regional?

    Our 8 min programme was:

    Fanfare for a New Age
    Pirates of the Caribbean

We now get 12 mins in the finals.

What date did you get the invitation to perform at Symphony Hall? We're still waiting for the result!

Had the letter on Friday but I know of 2 very good school bands that still have not received anything.

Let me know if you do.
