I read your comment about Blackpool regarding no stage.
Is there a stage at Tameside or are the bands still on the floor level similar to Blackpool?
It makes it very hard to watch the different bands whan you can hardly see the players.
If it's still in Dukinfield TH, floor. Used to be on the stage in the craphole that was Tameside Hippodrome.
As Andy has said, its on the floor.
Besses Boys Band will be there in the fourth section
Another contest give the bands a greak
sorry i meant break just after the areas
Thornton Cleveleys will be there in the 3rd. need good result to save us from going down i believe.
really, i've heard the band play a few times and you're far too good to be playing in the 4th section. You had some bad results?
we got a 5th at fleetwood playing hollywood, would of done better but we got marked down cause the adjudicator didnt think it was a proper test piece....IDIOT!!!
and we got 4th at the guild playing oceans.
apparently there are 3 bands below us in table, but we have been told that if they do well at tameside, and we dont go then they could leap frog us. we cant afford to take a chance, so we decided to go.
OCEANS! Great piece. Had some success with this in the 90's when Milnrow started their ascent to the top section. More 4th Sections bands should attempt this piece. It shows versatility.
No, they shouldn't. Seriously.
listening to some 4th section bands this year. they could easily do a good job on oceans. its easier than some test pieces i have played with 4th section bands. well the bass part is. lol.
Well I'd assume we are one of the bands below you, but i'm not sure if there is a years grace for promoted bands...if not I wouldn't worry about coming below us
Very difficult line ups in both the 4th and 3rd section....should be a very good contest.
List of bands entered is here
Last seven years top section results available here:
If anyone is able to plug the gaps (draws, conductors, testpieces played, etc) then that would be much appreciated. Thanks.
