    Hello Brass Banders

Welcome to another two hours of brass band music featuring bands and soloists from around the world.

This week we have three wonderful tracks that feature the international tuba virtuoso Patrick Sheridan. Another solo features the legendary euphonium player Trevor Groom with the 1969 GUS Band. To close this week’s show we have one of the best opening concert pieces there is and then we move swiftly into our penultimate piece The Pines of Rome. A brass band classic big finish – but just as you thought it might be all over – there’s more to close this week’s show.

Don’t forget feel free to share this Mixcloud link of the show with your brass band friends around the world and if they wish to receive the show direct each week all they have to do is send me their email address. Then they will never miss a show.

Patrick Sheridan (b: 1957) has been enthusiastically received as a solo artist around the world. He made his solo debut playing an arrangement of 'The Blue Bells of Scotland' accompanied by his mother, when he was just 8 years old. Only months later he had started playing his chosen instrument, the tuba! He made his solo orchestral debut at the age of 15. Since then has rocketed to success as a solo performer in venues ranging from the White House to Hollywood Bowl and performed more than 3000 concerts.
He became a member of The President’s Own, United States Marine Band. During his military service, he thrilled audiences across the USA with his amazing virtuosity and musicianship as one of the band’s primary soloists. Since then, Patrick has gone on to become an incredibly diverse artist with concert performances transcending stylistic genres and building fans around the world for his instrument, the tuba.

We are pleased to have three tracks featuring Patrick on this week's show.
