Denton Brass has completed a busy weekend, with two enthusiastically received concerts. On Friday night the band entertained the congregation at Stalybridge Unitarian Church, and on Sunday afternoon played at Marple Conservative Club to a packed house. Both concerts featured a specially themed 2nd half of wartime music, to commemorate the centenary of the start of WW1, and the 70th anniversary of D Day.

Playing standards such as Duke Ellington's Mood Indigo, Arnhem and Miller Magic, the band also delighted their audiences with selections including Famous British Marches and Bless 'Em All.

Special thanks must go to Mark Singleton from the Ring O Bells Pub, who in anticipation of the monsoon conditions that followed, very kindly arranged for the band to play indoors at the Con Club saving the concert from being cancelled.

Next up for the band is a concert next Sunday on the bandstand in The Groves, Chester, from 1-5pm. Please come and support us. For more information please visit
