On Boxing Day the Beaumaris Band play in the town centre of Beaumaris for a "Throwing hot pennys".
the traditition goes back to the Anglesey hunt ( Beaumaris was the old Admin and Judicial Capital of the County of Anglesey) where the Upper Classes would go to the Buckley Hotel on the hight street , get the cooks to heat up a load of coins and throw them at the poor kids, and the band would provide music for this "entertainment".
Are there any other strange customs which bands have to provide entertainment for?
