STOP THE PRESS it's 'The Brass Collective'!

    Due to a cancellation, 'The Brass Collective' are standing in at the last minute to perform a lunchtime concert at St. Martin in the Fields on Trafalgar Square, April 15th at 1.00.......that's tomorrow! Admission is free but a donation of £3.50 is suggested.

    The programme is:

    Wilfred Heaton 'Toccata'

    Derek Bourgeois 'Concerto Grosso' Op.61

    Hans Werner Henze 'Ragtimes and Habaneras'

    The group performed these works in a successful concert last Friday just over the road from St. Martin's at the National Portrait Gallery.

    'The Brass Collective' is made up of players who have worked or trialled with many leading ensembles including London Symphony, London Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, BBC Philharmonic and Royal Philharmonic orchestras to name a few. They have been members of the world's leading training orhestras such as the European Union Youth, Gustav Mahler Jugendorcheter and UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra. Serveral of the group are active soloists and give recitals and concerto performances throughout the country.

    Trumpet & Flugel: Craig Burnett, Phil Cobb, Steve Hicks, Hugh Morgan.
    Horn: Joss Lightfoot.
    Tenor trombones: Blair Sinclair, Robb Tooley
    Tenor trombone & euphonium: Iain Maxwell
    Bass trombone: Dan West
    Tuba: Wilf Driscoll

    The group will be conducted by Richard Ward
