St Helens - November

    Can anybody tell me what date in November the contest is being held in St Helens, formerly known as Pilkingtons, and where I maight be able to find some information on this?

    Its on 16th November at the Theatre Royal, St. Helens. Test pieces in all sections own choice from anything composed or arranged by Eric Ball.

    Details were posted on 4barsrest a couple of months ago.

    I think it's usually the same date as Spennymoor (16th of November). It's usually set works, but this year they're doing own choice Eric Ball pieces. I think Rainford band run the contest usually, so it is probably them you have to get in touch with. Hmmm... that was rather unhelpful of me really. No real info! :?

    oh dear, how can you not like it?!?!?!???!!!

    Anyway, Blackburn (and hence myself) are going, so we'll see you there!

    and living in St Helens, I may be a little drunk...

    Will cya in the bar NT, like leisa said she will be a bit drunk... has a reputation for that (not like me :twisted: ) Am not sure why don't like tournament for brass... think it is because it is always quiet.... pp, mp etc where's the fff and the exciting stuff??? :D

    I'll be drunken steward on the door nobody goes in... :cry:

    Anyway, they've knocked the front of the Theatre Royal down so....i don't know if it will still be there in November :? :? It probably will be but no doubt you'l be contacted if it's not!!

    At the moment we have a choice of two.
    Our MD says we can vote on in on Friday and then he'll tell us which one we're playing :?
    very democratic!

    We are undecided, might be Journey Into Freedom or A Kensington Concerto, think we have some more stuff to look at as well , then roll a dice.

    Do you think it is wise to post the test pieces you are playing in an own choice contest? Who knows if the adjudicator is reading this!!!
