Whaley Bridge Band is delighted to announce that they are to have projects for both their Senior and Learner bands funded by a new sponsorship deal from Bill and Lynne Wilson and their company Cedar Finance limited.
Mr Wilson, a long established local business man has sponsored numerous ‘Arts Projects’ around the area over the years and the band were delighted when he selected them to benefit from financial backing using Cedar’s arts sponsorship for their projects. Details of these projects will be released in due course.
The band has undergone a major re-growth period, from just 9 players in September 2008 to the present position of 26 senior members and 22 learners. The band not only welcomes established players, but also those wishing to learn – irrespective of age and ability. The senior band currently have openings for trombone and percussion.
Mr Wilson stated “We have seen Whaley Bridge Band come back to life in the local area, and are very impressed at what has been achieved in such a short period. We at Cedar are keen to support the future of local arts activities and we look forward to helping the band continue that growth to re-establish itself as one of the High Peak’s premier brass bands”.
The band can be contacted via their website www.whaleybridgeband.co.uk or direct to their Musical Director, Marcus Jones, on 07973 852051.

Congratulations to Marcus and the members of Whaley Bridge Band .You have all worked hard to keep the band alive over the past couple of years and epitomise what true banding is all about.I am sure that with this new additional support from Cedar the band will continue to go from strength to strength!:biggrin::biggrin:

    Thank you

Many thanks Sandy & Silk, Dave and VBS .

We are also very grateful to members of your bands (and the other local ones) for your support during our time of “re-growth” without which the process would have been more painful and longer. That said still a way to go until we are up there with you guys……;)
