Anyone know where to buy a Denis Wick harmon mute for Sop? Can't seem to find any online.
They don't make one
Eb harmon mutes (of any make) are unusual - I got mine (unbranded) from Phil Parkers
Band Supplies stock them also.
Try e-bay. I was lucky enough to get one second hand off a friend, but I did find a couple of mutes on their. Suprisingly they're not easy to find!
I managed to get one, its made by Virtuosi, it was under £20.
Hmm.....seems a bit ridiculous that no one makes them! Are they just not really called for? I've never paid too much attention, although I know that our sop player has one.....I'll ask him where he got it from.
I have one of those and I much preferred the AS one I got when I bought the sop ages ago, the virtuosi one is OK though
We have one that can alter the pitch by pretty nearly a semi-tone. . . Interesting!
Ok - my good friend Simonium informs me that Trevada Music stock them! Perhaps he is too shy to say himself.......
Anyway, they're on t'internet, have a look!
I get better intonation using a cornet one...
Might be a good idea to keep it in then Andy!
....what? and remove the challenge for the cornets?
