sop mouthpiece

    Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a Dennis Wick S and a Dennis Wick SL.:dunno

    I could say there's an "L" of a difference, but that would be facetious, so I'll just get me coat instead :oops:

    I'm not sure, but could it be a similar differnce as for the 2F and 2FL flugel mouthpieces? the description of 2FL on the DW mouthpiece chart is "with larger fitting for USA and Japanese instruments"

    Must say am not a fan of the Denis Wick Sop mouthpiece L of otherwise. Bachs are much better.

    Im 90% sure it refers to leadpipe size however Im not sure how many sop leadpipe sizes there can be.

    On lower brass it means it fits large bore sovereigns etc rather than the smaller imperials and older models.

    Thanks for the replys guys.....
    I have compared both mouthpieces side by side and to the naked eye they look both the same. They both fit into my sop at the same depth,seem to have same rim size, depth of cup and bore size....:confused: :dunno
