I like Let Me Try again, arranged by Simon Kerwin

    Also O my Beloved Father

    Meditation from Thais

    Or Soliquy (sp?)

Just listen to Kirsty Abbots CD, most of that stuff is on it, and rather good!

  4. My all time favourite is 'I hear you calling me' it used to be published in the Harry Mortimer Souvenir Album by Boosey & Hawkes. This book also contains Macushla which is another favourite.

    Cheers

Soliloquy - Philip Sparke is quite easily the most beautiful piece that I've ever played. It doesn't look like much, but then you really play it...then add the piano. My God, it's beautiful.

  10. Macushla by Dermot Macmurrough is simple yet a classic :)

  22. Pennine Music Publishing are proud to publish 3 of the works recorded on her solo CD "Soliloquy"...

    A New Dimension
    By Joy Webb

Arranged especially for Kirsty Abbotts’ solo CD by Stephen Hague, this gem of a piece comes from the salvation army composer Joy Webb (composer of the well known cornet solo “Share My Yoke”). A New Dimension incorporates the same simplicity, lush harmonies and a gorgeous tune as was done in “Share My Yoke”. A perfect addition to any bands library and soloists repertoire.

PLAYABLE BY ALL LEVELS OF BANDS

    Home Away From Home
    By Phil Coulter

This gorgeous melody has been made famous by the virtuoso flautist James Galway, popularised on Classic FM and now arranged for brass band with a solo cornet taking the starring role. A perfect concert item, such a simple melody, but heart warming and playable by most bands.

Violin Concerto in G Minor 2nd Movement
    By Max Bruch

Skilfully arranged by Steven Hague for Kirsty Abbotts of Carlton Main Frickley Brass Band, this beautiful second movement will not only keep the cornet soloist on their toes, but the rest of the band too, with some tricky rhythms and articulation. Although much of the work of Max Bruch remains unknown to modern audiences, his G Minor Concerto enjoys widespread popularity.
