I know Christmas is still quite a way off (!) but does anyone have any experience of playing these carol arrangements published by Wright & Round? I'm looking for an alternative to always playing carols out of the (excellent) SA red books particularly for 'big' concerts where we have a full band and need something that isn't too demanding technically (3rd/ 4th section standard - same sort of demand as the red books) or stamina wise.

    Any opinions appreciated!

Paul Drury has done a few good carol arrangements which we have used at Christmas concerts and services in the past. I think he's Gorgie Boy on here for a PM or his website is http://www.m8music.org/

I haven't seen the ones you mention but I'm also looking for an alternative to the tried and trusted red book this year.

The arrangement of "O Come all ye Faithful" is excellent and playable by a 4th section band. It also makes a good starter and I would recomend this piece to all bands.
