Go somewhere for a blow before Christmas to get it out of my system?

Is it really such a bad idea? What if I can't stop again?

Depends who you ask, some'll have you believe that I was, er, moderately good ;) Others maybe disagreed. One guy once said that I was the best 2nd Euph he'd ever sat next to....although I'm not sure if he wanted something at the time :D

    YMMV.

Definitely! How can you even ask the question! ;)

If it's in your blood, it's in your blood! Don't try to deny it, you'll end up needing counselling!

I needed counselling when I was playing for 25 years :D

    Go for it! :tup

You know you want to, or you wouldn't be asking the question!

It's always the way - you see the last six notes, start to relax, lose concentration and split the <forum unfriendly word> top G when you can't remember whether to play it open or on 4th :(

I blame it on being the British Open :D

Ah, but the fruits of your labours are in the hands of your MD....I'm not sure how your solo euph would take to having me in his section - he was certainly unsure about 3 of us (me being one - fair enough - one an ex-solo champion of Great Britain and another the National Champ winning solo baritone from Leyland (and ex-solo euph at Besses, Marple etc) telling him that he might like to try some alternative fingering on his upper register ;)

All came good in the end though

    - I wonder if they will let you warm up with a run through of The Promised Land? ;)

The only thing that'll warm me up after 2 years of not playing a note is a red hot poker I think.

I'm only doing this because I've got a secret (not any more) soft spot for Leroy Anderson's Christmas Festival :D

It looks like there's no escape

And you people were supposed to talk me out of it because it takes up too much time :hammer

Definatley should have a blow, even if just a quick one, watch out for the bug though, it's very addictive
