    I'm at work but as usual I'm just sitting here with nothing to do. I find messing about on the internet helps the 8 hours pass easier.

    Being female I can get all my work in and take the occasional visit to the site. I work with smokers who disapper once every couple of hours for 20 minutes for a fag and a gossip. So me coming on line for 10 mins every so often is still working hard than the smokers at my place of work.

    Probably better for you, too! That is until the doom-merchants decide that the internet gives you bubonic plague or something. I'm not teaching today, but I should be practicing for Butlins tomorrow as I'm playing a solo in the entertainments bit!

    I'm currently generating sequence diagrams for our next machine (in other words rotating part "A" by 1 degree, rotating part "B" to suit part "C" and moving part "D" to suit "A" "B" and "C" :-? ). It's boring tedious work, but important all the same. I'm struggling to focus on it with Butlins tonight to look forward to and tMP is keeping me from both concentrating on the job and going out of my mind...

    not at all boring, sounds fascinating !

    I am currently writing software for a laundry system, open stop A until bag reaches Stop B, open bag and drop linen into Washing Machine C - really fascinating !

    do you need a software engineer? my company is moving so I might need a new job !

    I think it is shocking that you are all in work and surfing tMP. :eek:

    I would never dream of doing such a thing - when I am at my desk I am totally focussed on my job. Must go, my boss is coming.... ;)

    * guilty as charged *
    we're haveing a "comapny meeting" this afternoon (presentation of last year's result, plans for the next year, speeches, jubilees, excellent performers and a reception afterwards, ...) So it's pretty much a wasted day anyway... ;)

    Yep, me too, guilty as charged (although it's lunch time right now).

    My motto is "never let a bit of work ever get in the way of a tmp post".

    I am having a few months off at present. A kept man (due to unforeseen circumstances) living off my wife. You should try it some time. Would go and play golf if I could walk.

    Anyone fancy reading the World Wide Web Consortium's XML Signature Syntax and Processing specification ( and then injecting the knowledge into my brain? Numbing stuff!

    Only 3.5 hours until quintet rehearsal and then bowling :D .

    Time online quite limited at present, as there were complaints I had my nose in the computer all day :oops:

    Had to cut down to an hour at start and end of the day, and a quick top-up at lunch-time if possible. Good job I can use Jonathan's computer in the evening, even if it is on slow dial-up :(
